A lifelong resident of Texas, Tom Turner has worked in construction and HVAC residential-light commercial industry for over forty years. He is an advocate for the “Performance Contracting” business model.
Tom began his full time HVAC career in 1984 working for Ben Maines Air Conditioning in east Texas over thirty-five years ago. Stops along the way include Le Tourneau University in Longview, Service Experts and Stan’s Heating and Air Conditioning both in Austin.
Experience ranges from commercial performance contract retrofits, service and installation with equipment that range from walk in coolers, boiler operations and HVAC equipment ranging in all types and sizes to 200-ton screw chillers and all phases of residential installation and service.
Tom has provided a decade of course development and training for Texas Air Conditioning Contractors Association to meet State of Texas continuing education requirements for the contracting community. Tom has served at several levels on Air Conditioning Contractors Association (local chapter) for over twenty-two years and has served as curriculum advisor for Austin Community College.
Currently Tom works for Austin Energy as the Environmental Program Coordinator for the nationally recognized municipal utility.
